What is Radiology and Diagnostic imaging?
A medical specialty that focuses on the imaging of the human body and human disease patterns. Radiologists use conventional x-rays, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, magnetic resonance (MRI), nuclear medicine, PET scanning and diagnostic angiography to image and diagnose diseased states. Radiologists also perform image guided biopsies and image guided treatments such as balloon angioplasties, endoluminal stent placement, radio-frequency ablation of tumors, trans-catheter embolizations and treatments as well as drainage procedures.
